Hello from Annick
Born and raised in Taiwan, I moved to Denver, Colorado, USA in 1993. I have a lovely family with my husband and two kids, a son and a daughter. My son is a college freshman and my daughter is a junior at the independent school where I teach. Time flies! I can’t believe that I am going into my 21st year of teaching. I was so lucky to learn about TPRS when I was student teaching (1998) under Diana Noonan, who has been the World Language Coordinator for Denver Public Schools since 2004. I started my career as a long-term French substitute, and I got my first full-time job teaching English as Second Language to the inner city high school students. Then I started to offer Chinese classes when our WL department chair asked me if I spoke Chinese in 2002. During my last five years with Denver Public Schools, I was offered the position where I am now for three times, so I decided to move from public school to private school. Now I am teaching Chinese in middle and high school. In addition to my full-time job, I also tutor and teach Adult Conversation at a heritage Chinese language school. The age of my students range from 11-75. Teaching with Comprehensible Input has been an eye-opening experience for me, and I really enjoy learning from and sharing with other teachers!
